People are not resisting change.

People are not resisting change.
They’re exhausted by change they never learned how to train for.

I came across this article from Harvard Business Review and it made me think about something we rarely talk about in organisations:

Change resilience works a bit like starting to go to the gym or starting running.

The first workout, the first mile feels awful.
Your breathing is off.
Your muscles resist.
Everything in you wants to stop.

But over time, something shifts.
You build stamina.
Recovery improves.
Your mindset changes from:
“Why is this happening to me?”
to
“I know how to move through this.”

The reality is: change is no longer temporary.
For many organisations, it is the environment now.

Which means the goal cannot only be delivering transformation.
It must also be helping people build the mental and emotional muscles to navigate continuous change sustainably.

Not turning people into victims of change.
But into active change players.

And honestly?
That may become one of the most important leadership capabilities of our time.
